As Americans, we cherish our 1st Amendment Right of “Freedom of Speech”. But we must also realize that a responsible use of this freedom is essential. The majority of us would agree for instance, that it would be irresponsible to scream "FIRE!" in a crowded theater if there is no fire. Protecting our 1st Amendment Right ensures the protection of those
“ certain inalienable* Rights” to which we are entitled, such as the pursuit of happiness. Enjoying happiness and freedom of self-expression fulfills the desire to compliment society with our own unique, individual qualities that contribute to the creation, facilitation and achievement of our highest potential as individuals and therefore, as a nation.
*inalienable: “not to be removed or transferred” – Webster’s Illustrated Dictionary

Responsibility in media figures heavily into this scenario. As an “instant communicator” media influences the lives of billions of people. Today, it is no secret that the negative trend in media programming adversely affects impressionable minds, particularly our youth. While the vast Entertainment industry has the capability if it so chooses of changing this trend, there is little indication that the excessive violence, sexual promiscuity and lack of morality in media is diminishing. Today, America - and indeed the world - is experiencing its own trend of mental depression, higher incidences of crime, abuse, and violence increasingly attributable to the increasing negative programming on television, in radio, and in film and video.

“What the world needs now”, people say, “is a change” :
